Kovacs Construction was proud to undertake the sensitive restoration and modern transformation of this beautifully appointed Grade II listed home, set on one of Angel’s most prestigious roads. Extending to nearly 3,000 sq ft across five levels, this project demanded a meticulous approach to both heritage preservation and innovative design.
The entrance opens to a stunning double reception room, where we restored original period details including the elegant fireplace, classic sash windows, and working shutters. These timeless features frame views onto a charming courtyard, preserving the home’s historic character while enhancing its comfort.
Contemporary Kitchen-extension:
To the rear, we created a striking kitchen extension designed as the heart of the home. The space is defined by a dramatic double-height ceiling and an architectural statement wall featuring massive slimline sliding doors paired with angled fixed glazing above. This bold combination floods the kitchen with natural light and maximizes the connection to the private garden, creating a seamless flow between indoors and out.
The kitchen itself was specified for a high-end, luxury feel, blending modern sophistication with subtle traditional touches. Premium finishes, carefully selected materials, and a palette anchored by classic chrome accents deliver a sense of timeless quality and elegance. The result is a space that is both contemporary and inviting, perfect for family life and entertaining.
Lower Ground Floor excavation and fit-out:
The versatile lower ground floor was excavated under the original feet of the building to include a cinema/media room, a spacious utility room fitted with premium cabinets and direct access to the courtyard. We maximized every inch of space, including the vault storage, to enhance functionality without compromising style.
Bedroom & Bathroom suites:
Upstairs, the first floor hosts a beautiful principal bedroom with sash windows and a generous en-suite bathroom. The second floor offers two further double bedrooms with custom built-in storage, while the top floor features an additional double bedroom and a luxurious family bathroom with both bath and separate shower - all finished to the highest standard.
Our team worked closely with specialists to ensure every intervention respected the property’s Grade II listed status.
